Qualification Purpose
The Level 4 Certificate provides learners with a deep understanding of laser and IPL treatments, focusing on:

- Client consultations and identifying suitable candidates
- Recognising contraindications and skin conditions
- Ensuring laser safety and controlling hazards in clinical environments
Who Can Enrol?
Entry is open to qualified beauty therapists who hold a Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy. Learners must be 18 years or older. There are no additional entry requirements set by Focus Awards, although your training centre may have its own policies.
Assessment Process
This qualification is assessed internally through a portfolio of evidence, including:

Qualification Structure
You must complete all mandatory units, totalling 31 credits:
- Management of Health, Safety and Security in the Salon (A/617/0936) – 44 GLH – 8 Credits
- Client Care and Communication in Beauty Related Industries (T/601/4457) – 28 GLH – 3 Credits
- Laser and Light Treatments for Hair Removal (F/617/0940) – 74 GLH – 10 Credits
- Laser and Light Treatments for Skin Rejuvenation (J/617/0941) – 74 GLH – 10 Credits
Geographical Availability
This qualification is offered in England and Northern Ireland.
Certification and Grading
Once you have successfully completed all required units and assessments, you will be awarded a Pass grade and receive your Level 4 Certificate in Laser and IPL Treatments.
