Fat Freeze Cryolipolysis Training Course
A practical CPD course in cryolipolysis, commonly called fat freezing. Controlled cooling is designed to reduce a localised, pinchable pocket of fat on areas such as the abdomen, flanks, back, thighs, upper arms and bra line. It is a non-surgical contouring treatment, not a weight loss treatment, and results vary.
Who this course is for
You need a Level 3 Anatomy and Physiology qualification. A Level 3 beauty therapy qualification is preferred but not essential. If you are unsure, contact us before booking.
Course structure
- Regulations, legislation, health and safety and infection control
- Skin, adipose tissue and the lymphatic system
- Fat distribution, body types and cellulite
- How cryolipolysis works and what the evidence shows
- Your device: applicators, settings and maintenance
- Consultation, contraindications, risks and complications, including paradoxical adipose hyperplasia
- The treatment step by step, aftercare and results monitoring
Learning outcomes
- Select clients who are suitable for treatment, and recognise those who are not
- Select the correct applicator and set temperature, vacuum and time
- Carry out a full consultation, identify absolute contraindications and obtain GP clearance where needed
- Run and monitor a treatment from start to finish, including post-treatment massage
- Explain the results timeline, usually assessed at eight to twelve weeks, and manage expectations
- Recognise, manage and record an adverse reaction
Duration and delivery
Eight hours: four hours of theory and four hours of supervised practical on a model at our Southampton academy. Materials include your manual, the device manual, handouts and a demonstration video.
Assessment and certification
Multiple choice questions, written activities in your manual including a case study scenario, and a full supervised treatment assessed against a practical checklist. On successful completion you receive an accredited CPD certificate, 8 CPD credits.
Insurance and licensing
Before treating paying clients you need insurance that names cryolipolysis, and you should check with your local authority whether a licence or registration is required.
