This CPD-accredited course takes you from the mechanism of action through to a step-by-step, repeatable treatment technique, with a full set of client forms to take away.

Who this course is for

Before booking you will need:

  • A Level 3 qualification in Anatomy and Physiology
  • A Laser and IPL Core of Knowledge certificate

  • Regulations, legislation and laser safety, including an LPA site-visit questionnaire to practise on
  • Introduction to the carbon laser peel
  • How it works: mechanism of action
  • Client suitability and Fitzpatrick typing
  • Medical history and contra-indications
  • Medications, topicals and herbal remedies
  • Equipment, eyewear and device compliance
  • Patch-testing protocol
  • Step-by-step treatment technique
  • Post-treatment care and aftercare
  • Treatment adaptations for body areas
  • Client forms: medical history, consent and aftercare, plus practitioner-only guidance on what to do when a client discloses a condition or medication

Duration and delivery

Approximately six hours.

Assessment and certification

Multiple-choice knowledge review, test-patch demonstrations, observation during live model sessions, and discussion and oral questioning. On successful completion you will be competent to perform carbon laser peels on suitable skin types, and you receive a CPD-accredited certificate.
