Light and Laser Hair Removal and Skin Rejuvenation Training Course
A CPD accredited course covering light and laser hair removal with diode laser, IPL, E-Light and SHR, together with skin rejuvenation, acne, pigmentation and vascular treatments on the same systems. Taught at our academy in Southampton.

Practitioners who want to offer light and laser hair removal and skin treatments, and who hold the entry requirements below.
Entry requirements
A Level 3 qualification in Anatomy and Physiology, and a Laser and IPL Core of Knowledge certificate. Both are available from us.
What the course covers
- Legislation and laser safety, with an LPA site visit questionnaire
- How light works, and the diode laser
- Hair structure and the growth cycle, treatment times and course planning
- Fitzpatrick skin typing, patch testing, consultation and consent
- Skin rejuvenation with IPL, E-Light, SHR and SSR
- Acne, pigmentation and vascular treatments, including which pigmented marks respond and which must be referred
- Aftercare and professional practice
- Case studies and the IPL and E-Light operating procedure
Learning outcomes
- Explain how laser, IPL, SHR, E-Light and diode technologies produce their effects on the skin and hair.
- Describe the structure of the skin and hair and the stages of the hair growth cycle, and explain why the growth cycle determines treatment timing.
- Select appropriate wavelengths, filters and parameters for different skin types and treatment aims.
- Carry out a thorough consultation, Fitzpatrick skin analysis, patch test and record keeping process.
- Identify contra-indications and manage client expectations, side effects and aftercare.
- Plan realistic treatment courses, intervals and review points for hair removal and each skin treatment.
- Work within current UK health, safety and regulatory requirements for light based treatments.
- Complete accurate records using compliant consultation, consent and treatment documentation.
Duration and delivery
Your large hardback manual and workbook is posted to you when you book. You then attend one full practical training day at our academy, 26 The Avenue, Southampton SO17 1XL, where you are trained on all four technologies, IPL, SHR, diode laser and E-Light, with supervised practical work on live models. Your trainer observes three hair removal treatments and three skin rejuvenation treatments and records them in your workbook.
Assessment and certification
A knowledge review in your workbook and observed practical treatments. On successful completion you receive a CPD accredited certificate of completion, 12 CPD credits.
