How the course runs
This is a blended course of twelve hours in total. On purchase we post you the hardback student training manual and give you access to your online learning.
1. Eight hours online
Worked through in your own time. Your answers are submitted for marking and must be returned before you attend the practical.
2. Four hours practical, 10am to 2pm
At our Southampton academy. You will be asked to explain areas of the theory to demonstrate what you have learned, and to deliver treatment competently on four areas of the body: abdomen, glutes, arms and thighs.
3. Four case studies
Submitted within three months of the practical. Your CPD certificate, carrying 12 points, is issued once all four have been marked.
Who can book
Learners must hold a regulated Level 3 qualification in Beauty. If you are not sure whether your existing qualifications meet this, contact us before booking and we will tell you honestly. We also offer a regulated Level 3 Award in Understanding Human Anatomy and Physiology if you need it first.

Treatment areas you will cover
You will deliver treatment competently on four areas of the body during the practical: abdomen, glutes, arms and thighs. The manual covers the anatomy, placement and protocol for each.
It also covers the questions clients will ask, including why a postnatal client with diastasis recti should see her GP or a women’s health physiotherapist first, and what you can and cannot honestly claim about results.
The machine, and your manual
Do you need the machine?
No. Many students train first and buy afterwards, and some train to add the treatment to a clinic that already has a device.
If you do want your own, we supply the four applicator EMS and radiofrequency platform you will train on, with warranty, regulatory documentation and setup included.

Ten sections and a legislation appendix covering compliance and legislation, anatomy and physiology, indications and contraindications, treatment areas and benefits, consultation and consent, treatment protocol, pre treatment and aftercare, equipment and machine parameters, troubleshooting and emergency protocols, hygiene and infection control, practical guidance, realistic outcomes and photo documentation, example treatment and consent forms you can use in your own clinic, references and case studies.
Assessment and certification
Your online answers are marked before the practical. On the day you are observed delivering a full treatment against a practical checklist, and you complete a written assessment of multiple choice, short answer and client scenario questions. Theory and practical are assessed separately and you must pass both. Four case studies follow within three months, and your certificate, 12 CPD credits, is issued once they are marked.
Please check with your insurer before you book that EMS body contouring is covered on your policy.
