About this course

Biotin, vitamin B7, is asked for constantly by clients who want help with hair, skin and nail condition. This course covers what it actually does, what it does not do, and how to administer it safely and legally.

You will cover the introduction to B7 injections including administration and regulations, the anatomy and physiology of the injection sites, and the pharmacology of biotin.

Then preparation and safety protocols, injection technique and adverse reactions, client aftercare and advice, and documentation and record keeping.

There are review questions after every section, and the course finishes with a practical assessment and competency check.

Face to face at our academy on The Avenue in Southampton, on live models under supervision, with all client forms included for your own clinic.

How you are assessed

Assessment is by review questions at the end of each section of the workbook, followed by a practical assessment and competency check.

You demonstrate preparation, safe handling, injection technique, aftercare advice and record keeping under supervision.

You will also receive written assessor feedback, and there is a learner course feedback form for you to complete.

Before you book

Entry requirements. Prior qualifications in anatomy and physiology and some nutritional knowledge, and a minimum Level 3 or Level 4 Ofqual regulated beauty qualification.

If you are missing either, you can take them with us first. Level 3 Anatomy and Physiology.

Insurance. Most insurers want to see an existing beauty or aesthetics qualification alongside a CPD certificate before they will cover you for this treatment.
