About this course
This course is designed to give you the knowledge to administer vitamin D injections safely and effectively, covering the effects and benefits, the regulations and legislation, the safety protocols, the anatomy and physiology relating to injections, and the record keeping and documentation.
You will cover what vitamin D is, how the injections work, dosage and method, allergies, the difference between oral supplements and intramuscular injection, key benefits, compliance, prescription only medicine status and contraindications.
Then the anatomy of the injection sites, the pharmacology, health and safety legislation, preparation and safety protocols, aftercare, and documentation.
The course is one full day, eight hours, and finishes with a practical assessment and competency check.

Online learning to work alongside the manual, so you can go over anything as many times as you need before you come in.
Practical training
Face to face at our academy on The Avenue in Southampton, on live models under supervision, with all client forms included for your own clinic.
How you are assessed
Assessment is by review questions at the end of each section of the workbook, followed by a practical assessment and competency check.
You demonstrate preparation, safe handling, injection technique, aftercare advice and record keeping under supervision.
You will also receive written assessor feedback, and there is a learner course feedback form for you to complete.

Before you book
Entry requirements. Prior qualifications in anatomy and physiology and some nutritional knowledge, and a minimum Level 3 or Level 4 Ofqual regulated beauty qualification.
If you are missing either, you can take them with us first. Level 3 Anatomy and Physiology.
Insurance. Most insurers want to see an existing beauty or aesthetics qualification alongside a CPD certificate before they will cover you for this treatment.

This course is accredited by The CPD Group. Skintastic Aesthetic UK is an approved provider, number 777800, which anyone can verify at thecpdregister.com. The course carries 8 CPD credits and the accreditation runs to 13 January 2028.
