The under-eye area is one of the most delicate regions of the face. Safe treatment requires an understanding of periorbital anatomy, vascular structures, skin thickness, orbital fat, tear-trough anatomy, product selection, injection technique, contraindications and complication recognition.
What is Lumi Eyes?
An injectable polynucleotide skin-rejuvenation treatment for the delicate skin surrounding the eyes.
PDRN stands for polydeoxyribonucleotide. Lumi Eyes contains fragments of DNA known as polynucleotides, which are used within regenerative aesthetic treatments to support the condition of the skin. Rather than filling a hollow with volume, the aim is to improve the quality and appearance of the existing under-eye skin.
It may suit clients concerned about
Polynucleotide treatments are used with the aim of supporting skin regeneration, fibroblast activity, collagen production, hydration, elasticity and overall skin quality. The result should look fresher, smoother and better hydrated – not obviously filled.
Lumi Eyes is not tear-trough filler
This is the most important thing to understand, and the reason a proper assessment matters before you book.

That uses hyaluronic-acid filler to add physical volume. Not everyone is suitable for it, particularly where there are prominent eye bags or a tendency towards fluid retention.
Lumi Eyes should not be sold as a replacement for filler in every client. If your under-eye appearance is primarily caused by deep hollowing, facial-volume loss, bone structure or significant eye bags, another treatment may be more appropriate – and we will tell you that at consultation rather than after you have paid for a course.

How many treatments, and how often
Approximately 3 treatments
A short initial course is the usual approach, after which results are reassessed.
Roughly 2 to 4 weeks apart
Providers vary – some use two to three weeks, others around four – so we do not present one interval as universally correct. Yours depends on the product protocol, your response and practitioner assessment.
Maintenance afterwards
Occasional maintenance may be recommended once the course is complete, based on your age, skin condition, lifestyle, initial response and goals. It is individualised, not mandatory.
When will I see results?
Some clients notice early improvements in hydration and freshness relatively quickly. The more gradual improvements in texture, fine lines, elasticity and overall skin quality develop over several weeks. Polynucleotide treatment is built around progressive improvement, so the fair assessment is after the course rather than after the first appointment.
Allow approximately 20 to 30 minutes for treatment, longer for a first appointment because of the consultation and assessment.

The treatment area is thoroughly cleansed.
Treatment
Lumi Eyes is carefully introduced into the appropriate under-eye tissue using fine injectable techniques.
Assessment and aftercare
The area is checked and you are given personalised aftercare.
Afterwards
Small raised bumps may be visible around the injection sites, along with redness, mild swelling, tenderness, bruising or small injection marks. Bumps often settle within hours; mild swelling may last a day or two.
What it will and will not do
Does it get rid of eye bags?
Not necessarily. Eye bags may be caused by protruding orbital fat, fluid retention, skin laxity, anatomy or ageing. Lumi Eyes may improve the quality of the overlying skin but cannot remove a significant fat pad. Pronounced eye bags may need a different treatment or medical assessment.
Does it remove dark circles?
It may improve certain dark circles, particularly where thin skin, poor skin quality or dehydration contributes. It cannot guarantee removal of pigmentation, vascular colouring or structural shadow – a deeply hollow tear trough will keep casting a shadow however good the skin gets.
Is it a filler?
No. Although it is injected into the under-eye area, it is not designed to behave like a volumising dermal filler.
Will it fix deep wrinkles?
It is aimed at fine lines caused by skin quality. Deep dynamic wrinkles and significant laxity are different problems, and Lumi Eyes will not replace every injectable, laser or surgical treatment.
How it compares with our other treatments
Versus Profhilo
Profhilo is a hyaluronic-acid bioremodelling treatment typically used more broadly across the face or body. Lumi Eyes is formulated specifically for the delicate periorbital area and is polynucleotide-based rather than a standard HA skin booster.
Versus general skin boosters
Traditional boosters focus heavily on hyaluronic acid and hydration. Polynucleotides take a somewhat different regenerative approach, aiming to support fibroblast activity, tissue repair and collagen-related processes. Both can be valuable; they are not identical.
Versus microneedling
Microneedling uses controlled micro-injury across the skin and may suit a larger facial area for texture, scarring and general collagen stimulation. Lumi Eyes is targeted specifically at delicate under-eye skin quality.
Versus CO₂ laser
Fractional CO₂ is considerably more intensive resurfacing, selected for more established wrinkles, significant crepiness and greater remodelling requirements. Lumi Eyes involves far less downtime and works gradually.
Versus plasma eye tightening
Plasma uses energy to create a controlled skin response aimed at tightening or resurfacing. Lumi Eyes is an injectable skin-quality treatment. They are two different solutions depending on the type and severity of the concern – we offer both.
Combining with tear-trough filler
Potentially, but the treatments would need to be assessed and scheduled appropriately rather than done together on a whim.
Who may not be suitable
This is an injectable procedure in a highly vascular area, and suitability is assessed individually.
Treatment may not be appropriate where there is
Polynucleotide products are commonly derived from fish DNA. Any relevant fish allergy must be disclosed before treatment. This is not a minor detail – tell us even if you think your allergy is mild.
Bruising and swelling
The under-eye region is highly vascular and therefore prone to bruising and swelling after treatment. Mild temporary swelling is possible. If you have a history of significant under-eye swelling, fluid retention or a previous adverse response to injectable eye treatments, tell us at consultation.
We recommend allowing some flexibility before an important event, particularly for your first treatment. Clients aged 18 and over only.
