This qualification provides the knowledge and understanding of the anatomy and physiology associated specifically with the facial area.
It underpins safe, effective practice across facial aesthetic treatments and is delivered as part of the Skintastic advanced training pathway.
It is a compact qualification, one mandatory unit worth 2 credits over 20 guided learning hours, so it fits alongside other training rather than taking over your diary.
It is often taken before microblading, micropigmentation or laser and IPL qualifications, where facial anatomy knowledge is expected.

This qualification comprises one mandatory unit totalling 2 credits. Successful learners are awarded the Focus Awards Level 4 Award in Facial Anatomy and Physiology (RQF).
Entry requirements and assessment
Entry requirements.
- Learners must have previously completed and achieved a Level 3 qualification in Beauty Therapy and a Level 2 in Skin Care and Facial Treatments.
- Learners without a formal qualification but with a minimum of two years of occupational experience may be considered, subject to a centre interview and a review of current knowledge and skills.
- Entry is at the discretion of the centre.
Assessment and delivery. Internally assessed through a portfolio of evidence. There are no external written examinations.

Your training is written and delivered by Carla, who is an IQA, an Assessor, a Level 5 DET holder and the UK Responsible Person with the MHRA for medical devices.
