Electrical Muscle Stimulation (Muscle Sculpting) CPD
In depth knowledge and hands on technique for delivering electromagnetic muscle sculpting treatments. Twelve hours in total, blended, taught at our Southampton academy.
What EMS muscle sculpting is
EMS muscle sculpting, also known as HIEMT or High Intensity Electromagnetic Technology, uses a focused electromagnetic field to stimulate the motor nerves supplying a muscle group. The field passes through skin and fat without heating them and acts on the nerve itself, producing contractions the client cannot achieve by tensing the muscle voluntarily. The industry term for these is supramaximal contractions.
The client lies still and comfortably while paired applicators are strapped over the area being treated. A typical session delivers thousands of contractions in around thirty minutes. There are no needles, no anaesthetic and no downtime, which is why it has become one of the most requested non-surgical body treatments in the UK.
Why practitioners are adding it
EMS is designed to work on muscle rather than fat, so it sits alongside your existing body treatments rather than competing with them. It pairs naturally with cryolipolysis, radio frequency and cavitation, and it suits clients who are already active and want to work on definition. It is quick to deliver, uses no consumables, and lends itself well to treatment packages.
You will train hands on with the EMSzero system at our Southampton academy, working on live models.
