What is Lumi Eyes?

Lumi Eyes is a specialist injectable treatment containing polynucleotides. Polynucleotides are used within aesthetic treatments to support skin quality, hydration and regeneration.

Unlike traditional dermal filler, Lumi Eyes is not primarily designed to add volume underneath the eyes. Instead the treatment focuses on improving the condition and appearance of the skin itself.

That makes it a popular choice for clients who want the eye area to look fresher and more rejuvenated without dramatically changing their facial features.

What can Lumi Eyes help with?

Lumi Eyes may help improve the appearance of:

  • Fine lines around the eyes
  • Crepey under-eye skin
  • Dehydrated skin
  • Dull or tired-looking eyes
  • Poor skin texture
  • Loss of elasticity
  • Early signs of ageing
  • Mild under-eye darkness associated with skin quality

Results vary between clients, and Lumi Eyes may not be suitable for every cause of dark circles or under-eye hollowness.

How does Lumi Eyes work?

Lumi Eyes is injected into carefully selected areas around the under-eye region. The treatment is designed to support hydration and improve the overall condition of the skin over time.

Rather than creating a volumising effect, the aim is gradual skin rejuvenation and improvement in skin quality, so the eye area looks smoother, fresher and more hydrated.

Your treatment course, and why three sessions

For the best results, Lumi Eyes is recommended as a course of three treatments, spaced approximately four weeks apart to allow the skin time to respond between sessions.

  • Session 1. Initial treatment
  • Session 2. Approximately four weeks later
  • Session 3. Approximately four weeks after session two

Lumi Eyes is designed to work gradually. A single treatment may give some improvement in hydration and freshness, but a course allows the effect to build progressively, which is why we recommend completing the full course rather than treating it as a one-off appointment.

Following your initial course, occasional maintenance treatments may be recommended depending on your skin, your concerns and the result you want. What you see will depend on your skin condition, age, lifestyle and individual response.

Lumi Eyes or tear trough filler?

They are different treatments for different problems.

Lumi Eyes focuses on skin quality, hydration, fine lines, crepey skin and overall under-eye texture.

Tear trough filler is designed to restore volume in suitable clients who have structural hollowness beneath the eyes.

Not everyone with dark circles needs filler. At your consultation we will assess your under-eye area and discuss which treatment, if either, is the more appropriate answer for your concern.

What happens during your treatment

Your practitioner completes a consultation and medical assessment first. The eye area is then carefully cleansed and prepared, and small amounts of Lumi Eyes are administered into targeted areas around the eyes using an appropriate injectable technique.

The procedure itself is usually quite quick, although your appointment also includes preparation, assessment and aftercare advice. Immediately afterwards you may notice small raised areas at the injection sites, which usually settle as the area recovers.

When will I see results?

Some clients notice that the skin around the eyes looks fresher and more hydrated soon after treatment. Further improvement in texture, hydration and overall skin quality can develop gradually across the course.

For that reason the full result is normally assessed after all three sessions. Results and how long they last vary from person to person and cannot be guaranteed.

Downtime and side effects

Lumi Eyes generally involves minimal downtime, although temporary side effects can occur. After treatment you may experience:

  • Mild swelling
  • Redness
  • Tenderness
  • Bruising
  • Small bumps at the injection sites

The eye area is delicate, so swelling may occasionally be more noticeable than with injectable treatments elsewhere on the face. These effects are usually temporary.

Aftercare

You will be given full aftercare guidance on the day. You may be advised to avoid, for a short period:

  • Strenuous exercise
  • Saunas and steam rooms
  • Excessive heat
  • Alcohol
  • Rubbing or massaging the treated area
  • Applying unnecessary pressure around the eyes

Always follow the personalised aftercare instructions your practitioner gives you.

Who is suitable, and who is not

Lumi Eyes may be suitable for adults concerned about tired-looking eyes, fine lines, dehydrated or crepey under-eye skin, reduced elasticity and early signs of ageing around the eyes.

It may not be suitable if you:

  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Have an active infection in the treatment area
  • Have certain allergies
  • Have particular medical conditions
  • Are taking certain medications
  • Have another contraindication to injectable treatment

Suitability is always assessed individually. A full consultation and medical history review is completed before any treatment, and clients must be aged 18 or over.
