Entry requirements
No formal prior qualification is required and the qualification is suitable for all levels. The academy may set additional entry criteria where appropriate. You must be aged 16 or over.

How the assessment works
You work through a student workbook written for this qualification. Each learning outcome has teaching content followed by a worksheet, and the completed workbook forms the main part of your portfolio of evidence. Your assessor marks each worksheet as Pass or Refer with written feedback, and any referred criterion can be resubmitted. Work is sampled by our Internal Quality Assurer and externally quality assured by Focus Awards. There is no grading: all 69 assessment criteria must be met.
Reasonable adjustments, such as large print, an electronic copy or answering orally, can be arranged. Please tell us before you start.
Scope and insurance
This is a knowledge qualification. On its own it does not qualify you to carry out any treatment, and you remain responsible for working within your training, insurance and local authority licensing.
