The two qualifications are awarded by Focus Awards and regulated by Ofqual on the Regulated Qualifications Framework. Each is internally assessed through a portfolio of evidence, with no external written examinations. The Core of Knowledge is a certificated course rather than a regulated qualification, and is the underpinning laser safety training expected before you work with a laser.
