About this qualification
This qualification is aimed at learners who want to broaden their knowledge and develop their practice within the health and beauty sector, and it is designed to prepare you for employment delivering ultrasound cavitation treatments.
It is graded on a pass or fail basis and comprises four mandatory units totalling 24 credits over 175 guided learning hours.
Alongside the treatment unit itself you complete a substantial unit on investigative consultation and advanced skin assessment, which is worth 10 credits on its own and is the unit that separates a regulated practitioner from someone who has done a day course.
If you already offer cavitation on a CPD certificate, this is the qualification that puts it on a regulated footing.

Learners must complete all four mandatory units to achieve a total of 24 credits. Successful learners are awarded the Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate in Ultrasound Cavitation Treatment (RQF).
Entry requirements and assessment
Entry requirements.
- Learners must have previously completed and achieved a Level 3 qualification in Beauty Therapy and a Level 2 in Skin Care and Facial Treatments.
- Learners without a formal qualification but with a minimum of two years of occupational experience may be considered, subject to a centre interview and a review of current knowledge and skills.
Assessment and delivery. Internally assessed through a portfolio of evidence. There are no external written examinations.
Available in England. This qualification is graded on a pass or fail basis.
