Who this course is for
- Prior qualifications in anatomy and physiology, together with some nutritional knowledge
- A minimum Level 3 or Level 4 Ofqual-regulated beauty qualification
Course structure
- Introduction to vitamin C injections — the role of vitamin C and deficiency, how injections work, dosage and methods, allergies, the difference between oral supplements and injections, key benefits, compliance, prescription only medicines and contra-indications
- Anatomy and physiology — skin structure, absorption and distribution, anatomy of the injection sites
- Pharmacology of vitamin C — key factors, potential interactions, management of adverse reactions, medication and supplement interactions, and the role of vitamins in nutrition and homeostasis
- Health and safety legislation — regulations, sterilisation, sharps, bloodborne pathogens and infection control
- Preparation and safety protocols — administering the injection, technique, appropriate needle sizes and lengths, post-injection protocol
- Client aftercare and advice — post-injection care and follow up
- Documentation and record keeping — consultation and keeping legal records
- Treatment planning, recommendations and marketing
- Practical assessment and competency check
Learning outcomes
By the end of this course you will be able to:
- Explain the role of vitamin C in the body, the effects of deficiency and how injectable vitamin C differs from oral supplementation
- Apply UK regulations, health and safety legislation and infection control to injectable practice
- Identify the anatomy of the injection sites and select the correct needle and technique
- Recognise contra-indications and interactions, and manage adverse reactions appropriately
- Deliver aftercare, plan treatment and keep legally sound client records

Assessment and certification
Review questions throughout the course, followed by a practical and competency assessment. On successful completion you receive a CPD-accredited certificate.
